Healthy eating is not all about lentils and beans, though these are great foods! Eating the right foods for you, and digesting them properly is such a step forward on the road to good health.
I have over the years devised many recipes for my clients and below are two which have proved very popular. They are wheat and dairy free, and together with some oatcakes would make a perfect lunch.
Lentil and quinoa salad:
A delicious salad perfect for a vegetarian snack or as a side dish with meat or fish.
Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is a complete protein, containing all 8 essential amino acids, it is also gluten free and easily digested.
Beta Carotene Soup: Beta Carotene is found in all yellow and red fruit and vegetables. In healthy individuals it can change into Vitamin A in the body. Essential for many functions, Beta Carotene is a powerful anti-oxidant.
Quick Salmon Pate:
Oily fish is an excellent source of omega 3 oils that help lubricate our joints, feed our brains, and balance our hormones. This recipe is also dairy free.
